Our History

 2005

      

The family company is founded by Peter H. Leibold. The first pellet plant is constructed in Wismar, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

 2006

 

German Pellets builds two more production facilities in Ettenheim and in Herbrechtigen (Baden-Württemberg)

 2008

 

The sister-company German Horse Pellets GmbH is created. It develops and produces animal hygiene products from wood-based materials.

 2010

 

Through acquisitions and increases in production, production capacity rises to over a million tons of wood pellets a year.

 2011

 

German Pellets acquires FireStixx and its namesake's pellet label; in doing so, it gains one of the leading quality brands in Europe.

 2012

 

German Pellets acquires Hot'ts group, expanding its market share in Austria. The construction of the first US plant in Texas begins.

 2013

The construction of the Texas plant is completed and the construction of a second in Louisiana begins.

 2014

German Pellets acquires Heizwert/Austria. With an annual quantity of 35,000 tons of sold wood pellets the company is one of the largest and most important dealers of Austria.

 2015

Commissioning of the second pellet mill in the United States located in Urania, Louisiana.
