What are wood pellets?

Wood pellets are small cylindrical pellets from untreated dry wood. Under high pressure the material is pressed through a steel die and connected by it's own wood lignin without the addition of chemical binders.
Raw material such as saw dust and wood shavings are used, which are obtained as by-product in sawmills and timber processing industries. Unknown wood waste from the timber industry and the forest are also used.
The energy consumption for the production and supply of pellets is far below that of heating oil and natural gas. The switch from oil to pellets is easy and heating with pellets is convenient, environmentally acceptable and economical.
Pellets are environmentally friendly.
The use of pellets contributes to climate protection.
- Wood pellets burn CO2-neutral, there is only so much greenhouse gas carbon dioxide released as the tree has comitted in the course of it's growth for example as trough it's decay back into the atmosphere.
- Wood is renewable resource and is sufficiently. Only 60 % of annual growth is currently being utilized in Germany.
- The emission of SO2 is lower than from fossil fuel.
- Compared to other wood fuels, pellets have a lower emission of particulate matter.
Pellets support the local economy.
The energy source of wood creates new jobs, contributes to the economic value and ensures the social structures, especially in the rural regions.
Pellets are a standardized fuel.
German Pellets produces premium quality pellets and certifies these in accordance to DINplus- and ENplus A1 standards. These high quality pellets are ideal for small boilers. In addition, German Pellets produces industrial pellets for large systems.
Become independent!
How comfortable! The price of wood pellets is virtually stable for years. Even before the Easter-Summer- and Christmas holidays. As with fuel oil, there is, indeed, a quality discount and seasonal rates. Loose pellets are always cheaper than bagged goods. But the most important rule of thumb is: no one speculates with pellets. Their availability is always without limit. The fact that in Germany the potential of wood and it's sustainability is hardly challenged. The future is therefore certain: There will be plenty of pellets even with increasing demand.
